Jeanne was born October 17th, 1934, and was the only child of adoring parents, Walter and Blanche Albrecht. She grew up in Chicago and graduated from Steinmetz High School. After graduation, she moved to Mt. Prospect—her forever home.
Her greatest joy was her family! As a mother, she volunteered for countless activities including leader of Brownies, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts, Room Mother, and school librarian. As a grandmother, she was a frequent spectator to countless theatre productions, concerts, and sporting events.
She was the best baby-sitter ever!
Jeanne also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life including playing bridge, traveling, cross-word puzzles, and spending time with her many life-long friends.
She will be missed by her children Kathy Gresens (Keith), John Cutchin (Valery) and Nancy Foster (Eric), step-children Mark Shelly (Kim), Marti Reilly (Dave), Pete Shelly, Paul Shelly, and Phil Shelly, grand-children Amanda, Kayla, Matthew, Dylan and Cole, step-grandchildren Kevan, Kyle, Keith, Jason, Janelle, Ian, Todd, and great grandson Vance.
Jeanne is preceded in death by loving parents Walter and Blanche Albrecht, husband Jay Shelly, grand-daughter Lisa Jeanne Gresens and step-grandson Bryan Shelly.
Jeanne also gave her time, talents, and resources to numerous charity organizations. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to your favorite charity. Let’s celebrate the life of Jeanne S. Shelly.
